Introduction

Maninjau is volcano lake as a result of volcanic activity of a big mount in ancient called as "Gunung Tinjau". There is no data recorded about this natural phenomenon. However, nowadays a beautiful lake, surrounded by "bukit barisan hills" is present in Tanjung Raya sub distric, Agam distric, West Sumatra province. It is located about 140 km north east from Padang (the Capital of West Sumatera) Indonesia. We can watch full view of the lake from highest peak hill that is 'Puncak Lawang". From Puncak Lawang, an amazing scene that is the surface of the lake shining with quiet wave like a mirror inspirates artist to make a song or poem. Maninjau lake is famous as tourist aims both domestic and international.
From Puncak Lawang we can reach the Maninjau lake after go through 44 descending sharp curves and declined road.
